Janet and Harry were both amazing advocates for all people with learning disabilities, and their contributions to the LD community both in Maine and nationally were crucial to raising awareness and fighting for appropriate education for this population. Their support for children and adults with dyslexia and other learning disabilities was a driving force behind my own career, which included starting the Aucocisco School in 1996, so students whose needs were not being met in public school would get the specialized instruction they needed (and continue to need) to be successful. Janet was always there to help families with her knowledge and caring. She will be missed, but her legacy will continue. I feel very privileged to have known and learned from her.

Janet was a wonderful woman and educator. She and Harry did so much to bring greater understanding about learning disabilities in children and adults. Thank you Janet! Have a blessed reunion with Harry, and may you both fly with the great blue herons!

So many years of work at the Learning Disabilities Association of Maine sharing her wisdom and compassion for children and adults who struggled to learn. Janet was dedicated to educating teachers and parents about ways to make school and home life easier. Thanks for sharing it all, Janet!
