Janet Enright Taranto entered the gates of heaven on July 7, 2025, at the age of 76 years. She was born on December 18, 1948, to the late Janet Cecile and Joseph J. Enright, Jr. in New Orleans, LA (Algiers). She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond L. Taranto, Jr. for 54 years. Mother of Micah Taranto (wife, Melissa), Christopher Taranto, Joseph Taranto and Jessica Thayer, (husband, Nick). Sister of the late Joseph J. Enright III; the late Cassandra “Sana” Winck; Sigrid Vedros; the late Sidney Gene Enright; and Stephanie Calderaro. She was part of a large family with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Caleb, Mia, Chloe, Evan, Sophia, William and Brooklynn whom she cherished dearly. She graduated from Behrman High School in Algiers. She was an energetic, caring and extremely creative person who touched the lives of countless people. As a co-pastor of Praise Fellowship Church in Algiers for twenty-two years, Janet ministered to people at the highest and lowest points in their lives. To say she was beloved is an understatement. She valued her friendships and cared for people with comfort, joy, and support. She had a way of uplifting your spirit at just at the right time. Her greatest pleasure in life was her children and grandchildren. Very rarely was she not side by side with one of them. She passed on her love for the arts. Her legacy of family, creativity and love of the Lord, which will be carried on in her remembrance.
