Janet Joann Thompson, age 77 of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otha Leroy and Vera Thompson; her siblings, L.J. Holland, Otha “Leroy” Thompson, Jr., and Gail Davenport; her nephews, Jeffrey Holland and Rusty Thompson; and her niece, Janet Elaine Northrop.
Although Janet never had children of her own, she is survived by an enormous amount of family that she selflessly helped to raise, love, and take care of.
She worked at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport as an LPN in the recovery room. She later became a Veterinarian Tech for Cloverleaf Animal Clinic in Memphis, TN until her retirement in 2012.
Janet had a passion for taking care of animals. She devoted many years of that to her career as a Vet Tech. This also showed by how much she adored her sweet dog, Sadie. Her other passion in life was her love for her family. She had a hand in raising so many of us. She continued until the very end letting us know how much we meant to her. She was an unbelievably caring, nurturing, and kind woman. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulfport.
The family would like to thank Gulfport Care Center for caring for our aunt.
