PLYMOUTH – Janet Kunz Worcester passed on to her Lord with peace and dignity at Norwell VNA's Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham, MA on October 16, 2025 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Quincy, MA on October 3, 1954, Janet was the fourth child of the late Francis and H. Lorraine Kunz of Randolph, MA. She had three older siblings, Kathy, Stephen, and Susan, and three younger siblings, Cheryl, Ricky, and Lorraine.
Following graduation from Randolph High School, Janet attended Quincy College. She would later be employed by the Dunkin Donuts brand home office for many years in Randolph.
Janet met her husband Paul Worcester through mutual friends in 1977 and married on June 5, 1981. Having settled in Plymouth, MA where they would reside for 45 years, they raised a family of two children, Lindsay and Ryan Worcester. Janet took the greatest pride in being a mom and grandmother.
An active member of her community, supporting sports and other youth activities for her children, and serving as a religious education teacher in her church, St. Bonaventure of Plymouth, MA.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 45 years, Paul G. Worcester of Plymouth, MA., two children, Lindsay Worcester-Grace and her husband Michael Grace of Scituate, MA, and Ryan Worcester and his wife Courtenay, and their children, the most beloved grandchildren of Janet, Elise and Evan Worcester of Hingham, MA., She is also survived by her brother Stephen Kunz and his wife Nora of Pembroke, MA. a sister Cheryl Brown of Braintree, MA., brother Richard Kunz of Plymouth, MA., and sister Lorraine and her husband Brian Meal of Kingston, MA. She is pre-deceased by sisters Kathleen Flaherty of Pembroke, MA., and Susan Prescott of Hanover, MA. Janet is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
A period of visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10 am at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 803 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet).
In lieu of flowers, donations to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215, www.dana-farber.org, Jordan Hospital Club Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, 275 Sandwich Street, Plymouth, MA 02360 or the Pat Roche Hospice House, 86 Turkey Hill Road, Hingham, MA 02043, as each played an important role in providing immense quality of life during her cancer ordeal.
