Janet R. Young

Janet Ranae Young, aged 71 years, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 at her home in Cushing, OK.
Janet was born in Edmond, OK in 1953 to Claude "Ernest" and Helen Keasling, and raised on a family farm in Luther, OK. Janet graduated from Luther High School in 1972 as valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at Rogers State University in Claremore, OK earning an Associate's degree in business administration. Janet furthered her education later in life by obtaining a Bachelors
of Science in business administration from Southern Nazarene University in 1997.
Janet worked in clerical positions at Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation until 1998 when she was accepted to Tinker Air Force Base's outstanding scholar program and worked as a civilian contract manager until her retirement in 2014.
Janet enjoyed time with her several Yorkshire terrier dogs, reading mystery novels, crocheting, painting, and hand crafting porcelain dolls. She was an avid Oklahoma State University Cowboys sports fan, especially football and basketball.
Janet was preceded in death by both parents and her younger brother, Jim Keasling. She is survived by her only son, Joel Young, and her older brother, Phil Keasling as well as the many friends and extended family she held dear throughout her life.
