She was born on February 10, 1935, to parents Raymond E. & Ruth G. (Hans) Young in Loudonville, Ohio, and graduated from Loudonville High School with the class of 1953.
After graduating, Janet began working for the government which included Wilkins Air Force Station in Shelby, Ohio, Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown, PA, and the Defense Contract Administration Office in Dayton, Ohio. She retired from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, after 37 years in 1990, from the Defense Department in Purchasing and Contract Administration.
Janet was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Loudonville and the Zions Singles. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, solving crossword puzzles, and attending to movies and programs at the Loudonville Ohio Theater.
She is survived by her nearest family, Tom & Debbie Lavinder, Shelly & Don Taylor, Brenda & Brad Eagle, and many more cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Young Jr.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Loudonville Cemetery.
