Janette James

Janette James was born March 24, 1942 in Hugo, OK, the daughter of Frank Oakes and Ella (Richards) Oakes and had lived all of her life in Hugo. She was a 1960 graduate of Hugo High School. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny James; brothers and sisters, Homer Oakes, Tommie Oakes, Juanita Oakes, Corine (Oakes) Springs, Florence (Oakes) Higgins, Henry Oakes, Bealy (Oakes) Green and Judge Oakes. Janette enjoyed working in her dog kennel, "the Dog House". Her pride and joy was her dog, Eddie. She was loved by her clients and many many animal friends that would come to stay all night with her. Janette also enjoyed painting, bowling, and cooking. She was a good jokester and always wanted everyone to be happy. Janette was of the Assembly of God faith. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: one son, Johnny "Chief" James, Jr. and wife, Jana of Hugo; two sisters, Maudine Johnson of Owasso, OK and Frankie Yeley of Hugo; one brother, Paul Oakes, Sr. of Hugo; three grandchildren, Jessica Allred and husband, Ralph of Hugo, Jason James and wife, Brandi of Hugo, and John Johnson of Norman, OK; four great grandchildren, Kameron , Noah and Palin Allred and Brayson James; several nieces and nephews; close family friends, Wanda and Bill Neal of Hugo along with many other relatives and friends. VISITATION: the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
