Fay Janette Rhodes, 81, of Parsons, TN, passed away Wednesday, April 16th, at her home.
She was born May 29, 1943 in Henderson County to the late Dewey and Virgie Powers. She was a 1961 graduate of Lexington High School and then continued her college education over several years before completing a Bachelor's Degree. Janette worked many years as City Administrator for the City of Parsons and the City of South Pittsburg. She then went to work for the State of Tennessee as an auditor before retiring. She was an active member of Bunches Chapel Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending.
Janette is survived by two daughters, Benita Brasher and Jenita Evans, by two sons, Dylan Rhodes and Evan Rhodes, all of Parsons and by a brother, Floyd Powers, of Henderson.
She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren - Misty and Melany Evans, Colton, Brooke and Jay Hunter Brasher and by 2 Great-Grandchildren - Liam Brasher and Hayley Lime. Janette also had 4 very special friends that she considered family, Phil and Cheryl Flowers and Carl and Bertha Randolph.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Rhodes, her parents and siblings, Marie Duke, Howard, Bobby, Hugh and Thomas Powers.
Her Funeral Service will be held at Reed's Chapel, Decaturville, TN, at 2 PM on Friday, April 18th, with Bro. Terry Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Parsons.
Visitation is Thursday 2 PM - 9 PM and Friday 9 AM until service at Reed's Chapel - Decaturville.
