Dear Pewee and Family,My deepest condolences to you and your family. Jan will always have a SPECIAL place in my heart. She was God-sent for my Grandpa Scheftner and seemed to fit into our family naturally. Saturdays in my teen years are unforgettable —riding bikes with my two brothers to hang out with Grandpa and Jan. They were such an amazing couple in the kitchen, together creating concoctions such as french fried soup and potato dumplings. Grandpa always told me the food would grow hair on my chest, but thankfully it didn’t. The stories they shared were always entertaining and also life learning lessons which is why I guess we kept coming back for more. I wish more families today could have this experience with their grandparents. As years went by, Jan always continued to show support for me during my single years throughout college and then during married family life. Even though I moved to Georgia, whenever I talked to her it would feel just like old times.I am so thankful to have known such a great lady as Jan, and know God has a special place for her.God BlessMary (Scheftner) Lehner

My deepest condolences to the family. While I never had the honor of meeting Ms. Janette, I loved her through the stories her daughter, Juanita, shared with me. I remember a wonderful video of her singing...and know she is now singing with the angels.

Dear PeeWee,
I learned about the passing away of Grandma Jan on May 13th from Mary and Mark. Please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your beautiful mother and someone that I was fortunate to grow up with and proud to call my Grandma Jan. I have lots of very fond memories of her and Grandpa Scheftner during our visits on Saturdays. I am happy to learn that she went peacefully and believe that she is at peace now. She will always have a special place in my heart for taking such great care of us and for treating us as one of her own grandchildren. Pleas pass along my warmest regards and love to the your family. Love Michael
