Obituary For Janice Lane Coskey
Janice Lane Coskey passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 near Lake Limestone, Texas while vacationing with her son and daughter-in-law at the age of 87. Janice was born on July 5, 1937 to Phelps and Carolyn Lane in Hartford, Connecticut.
After moving through California and Dallas, they settled in the Garden Villas area of Houston in 1945, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston and attended classes at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. After returning to Houston in 1957, Janice worked alongside her father at Precision Aeromotive Corporation.
On April 8, 1961, Janice married the love of her life, Johnny Coskey. In 1975, Precision Aviation Incorporated was created by her father to manufacture compasses for the aviation industry. Janice served as the president until its sale in 2020. Janice was also very active with Garden Villas United Methodist Church, both as a member of the congregation and on various church committees.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, boating and water skiing with her children and grandchildren and flying with her son. Janice and Johnny were an inseparable team until April 24, 2024 when he passed. She missed Johnny every day since then.
Janice is survived by her daughter Karen Dennis and husband Wayne of Georgetown, her son Mark Coskey and wife Sharon of Tomball, four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be held at South Park Funeral Home in Pearland on July 11, 2025 at 5:00pm.
The funeral service will be on July 12, 2025 at 10:00am and interment will follow at South Park Cemetery at 11:00am. For those desiring, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
A special thanks to Mel and Trinity from Home Instead for the caring kindness they provided to Janice and her family during the past 14 months.
