Janice Ruth Cowart, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 6, 1933, in Indiana, Janice brought joy and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Janice was known for her loving personality and her infectious spirit, always seen dancing to her favorite tunes. She cherished her time spent with family, creating precious memories that will remain in the hearts of her loved ones forever. Janice had a unique hobby of collecting roosters, a passion that added a personal touch to her home and life.
She leaves behind a devoted family: her children Debra Bray, Vernon Cowart, Linda Hogan, Raymond Cowart, Allan Cowart, Pamela Whitney, and Sandra Simmons, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Janice will also be deeply missed by her 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, each of whom she held close to her heart.
As we remember Janice, let us celebrate the vibrant spirit she embodied, always surrounded by laughter, family, and dance.
A visitation will be held on October 4, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn South Cemetery and Mausoleum in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at 3:00 PM on the same day.
Janice Ruth Cowart’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, a testament to a life well-lived and a soul that danced through the world.
