Janice Bunton Craig, 86, the childhood sweetheart and wife of Ronald D. Craig, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. She was born in Fayette County on June 20, 1939 to the late James and Mabel Armstrong Bunton. Janice worked in the office at the Paris Stockyards in Paris, Kentucky and Clay Wachs and Bluegrass Stockyards in Lexington, Kentucky. She was a farmer and loved watching UK Wildcats Basketball. A woman of faith, Janice loved spending time with her family; she was always cooking, baking, and making candy.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Lea (Michael) Lewis, of Springfield, and Sheila (Roger) Cheatham, of LaGrange; her grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica) Cheatham, of Eminence, and Lindsey Cheatham, of LaGrange; step-grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) Short, of Springfield, and Robert (Emmalee) Lewis, of Bowling Green; her great grandchildren, Brook, Laura, Lydia, Beckett, and step great granddaughter Adalyn; her sister, Barbara Burberry; and her brother, Danny Bunton Sr.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Hazel Younger, Frances Reed, Eva Broaddus, and Bobby Bunton.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ladies that provided caregiving during the past weeks and to Hosparus of Green River for their care and support.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Zack Murphy will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Mike Lewis, Roger Cheatham, Tyler Cheatham, Robert Lewis, Danny Bunton Jr, and Mickey Younger with honorary casketbearers Lindsey Cheatham and Jennifer Short . Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.

Janice was a kidney transplant recipient, for which she had a live donor in her daughter Lea. The family encourages individuals to support Donate Life and be an organ donor and live donation when possible.
