Janice Carnell Morgan Deaton, 71, of 969 Bethesda Road, loving wife of 51 years, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 11, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born March 28, 1936, in Glendale, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Wilburn and Gertrude MacDonald Morgan. She worked with Community Cash Stores for 25 years and then retired as owner and operator of Lee�s Flower Shop. She was a lifetime member of Glendale Wesleyan Church. Survivors include her husband, Archie Scott Deaton; four daughters, Cindy Copeland and her husband Mitch of Cannons Campground, Amy Deaton of Spartanburg, Janice Newbold and her husband Ron of Roebuck, and Nikki Deaton of the home; a son, Jeffrey Scott Deaton and his companion Marilyn Searcy of Spartanburg; a foster sister, Nancy Fowler of Newberry; three grandsons, Jason Slaten and his wife Christina of Chesnee, Scottie Fisher of Roebuck, and Landon Deaton of Spartanburg; a great-grandson, Mathew Slaten of Chesnee; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous �adopted by love� children. She was predeceased by a foster sister, Nellie Wortman; and a brother, Johnny Morgan. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008, at Floyd�s Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Floyd�s Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Frank Cantrell, the Rev. Johnny Bridges, Mr. Ron Newbold, and the Rev. Wesley Dixon. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P. O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304; or to Vista Care Hospice, 4006 East North Street, Suite A, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home.
