Janice Mary Detweiler

Janice Mary (Moyer) Detweiler, 82, of Jonestown passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of Ernest P. Detweiler with whom she celebrated 61 years of married life this past October.

Born in Doylestown on June 10, 1943, she was the daughter of the late J. Ammon and late Marion (Hedrick) Moyer. She was a member of the Dohner Mennonite Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four sons: Michael (Rhoda Weaver) Detweiler of Clare, MI, Bruce (Rebecca Rohrer) Detweiler of East Berlin, Harold (Dorcas Hurst) Detweiler of Jonestown, and Clifford (Linda Bicher) Detweiler of Jonestown; daughters Emily and Lucy Detweiler at home; daughter-in-law Joann (Stephen) Bauman of Annville; sisters Eunice (Daniel) Lehman, Sara (Timothy) Carper and Rhoda Myers; and twenty-nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Gerald D. Detweiler and brother-in-law Alan Myers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the Dohner Mennonite Church, 2771 Cedar Run Rd., Lebanon. There will be a viewing at the church on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining church cemetery.
