Service Saturday, November 8, 2025, 12:00pm at Southwest Mississippi Community College, Aylene Adene Hurst Auditorium, Pastor Micheal A. Otkins officiating. Janice was born on October 16, 1970, in Magnolia, MS, to George and Annie Mae Felder. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Tharrell E. Felder, and one sister, Icey M. Felder.
A proud South Pike High School alumna, she was a three-time state basketball champion and a standout in the Best of the U.S. Tournament, defeating the team led by Lisa Leslie. At the University of Southern Mississippi, she became the all-time leading scorer in program history with 2,275 points, later playing professionally in Switzerland and Israel. Returning home, Coach Felder led the South Pike Lady Eagles to the 2007 Class 3A State Championship and earned multiple Coach of the Year honors.
She later served as an elementary physical education teacher, inspiring generations of students.
She is survived by six brothers-Charles Green of McComb, MS; Michael (Beverly) Vick of Baton Rouge, LA; George (Deidre) Felder of Magnolia, MS; Tommy (Melonie) Vick of Baton Rouge, LA; Sidney (Toniette) Felder of McComb, MS, and James (Tammy) Felder of Magnolia, MS-and three sisters-Pastor Shirley (Apostle Larry) Pounds of Savannah, GA; Sharon R. Felder of Jacksonville, FL; and Sherry L. Felder of McComb, MS-along with her godson Chace Varnado and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Coach Felder's life was a testimony of faith, excellence, and perseverance-a legacy that will forever live on through those she taught, coached, and loved.
