Janice Evelyn Humphreys Frisbie, Age 80, a lifelong resident of Erie, Tennessee, went home to be with our lord peacefully in her sleep September 24, 2025. Janice was the 9th child born to Taylor Blair and Roberta Walker Humphreys on July 19th, 1945. Survivors include her husband of 46 years: Marvin Frisbie, daughter: Keisha Frisbie, brother: Glenn Humphreys, all of Philadelphia, brother-in-law: and sisters-in-law: Steve and Abbie Frisbie, Margie Burns all of Niota, grandchildren: Jaden Sunday, Kamela Woods, and Jayce Frisbie. Special nieces: Shannon Humphreys-Ellis, and Ashley Humphreys-Kile, and many other special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly. Janice found tremendous joy being with her siblings, especially her brothers. She grew up surrounded by a family that taught her the importance of loyalty and togetherness, and she carried those lessons with her throughout her life. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Salem Baptist Church and was a very godly woman and loyal servant to our Lord. Her unwavering devotion to God was the foundation of her life. She attended Midway High School and graduated in 1963. Janice learned at an early age the value of hard work. Her heart was as big as the fields she worked in, always lending a hand and offering help in whatever way she could. She was a very hardworking woman. Whether it was tending to the cows in the early morning or putting in long days on the farm that she and her husband shared, Janice poured her energy and love into everything she did. She loved raising cattle, gardening and flower gardening. And always made time for shopping. She shared her life with her beloved husband, Marvin. Side by Side, they worked on the farm, weathered hardships, and built a life rooted in love and care. Even through Marvins long years on the railroad and even times of sickness, Janice cared for him faithfully. Her love for him was unwavering and unconditional, standing beside him through good times and bad. Janice also took pride in her work at Athens Products Company where she made long-lasting friendships with her coworkers. To know Janice was to love her, even in sickness Janice brightened every room she walked into. Though she never had children of her own, she was a second mother to many. Her nieces and nephews were the light of her life. She treated each one of them with the care and love of a parent rather than an aunt. They will carry her lessons, laughter, and guidance in their hearts forever. Janice had a special gift for balance. She was just as comfortable in her jeans and boots as she was in her Sunday dress. She showed that hard work can go hand in hand with beauty and gracefulness. She was truly one of a kind, a woman with a unique spirit and a strong personality. She spoke her mind with honesty and stood firmly in her unshakable faith. Yet, beneath her strength, was a heart full of generosity, humor, and love. She was unapologetically herself, and everyone she knew cherished her for that Janice will be remembered as a woman who never stopped giving, never stopped working, and never missed a chance to show her husband and family, love through a warm meal, a helping hand, or a sweet smile and a laugh. We rejoice in knowing she is home, and she has entered eternal rest, welcomed lovingly in our Saviors arms, where her work on Earth is finally complete. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Walker, Edward, Edwin, Murrel, Gwain, Don, Lynn Humphreys, sisters: Barbara Humphreys, Geraldine Shanahan. The family and friends will meet at 12:45 P.M. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Edgemon Cemetery for a1:00 P.M. graveside service and interment, with Rev. Doug Alexander officiating.
