Janice Geis Obituary

JANICE LEE GEIS
May 6, 1943 ˜ July 18, 2023

Jan Geis passed away on July 18, 2023, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Born in Vancouver on May 6, 1943, she was the elder daughter of Pin and Lavina Mills. Jan graduated from Fort Vancouver High School and Clark College.

More than anything, Jan loved being Mom to Jason and Tina. She supported all activities related to their lives.

Jan was devoted to her husband of 51 years, Neil, who passed away in 2019. She was a wonderful Nana to Jake, Jordan and Gisele. Jan was a loving sister, aunt and friend. She had an extensive group of friends, many of whom she had known and loved since grade school. Jan was athletic and thoroughly enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren excel in sports, and she was an avid Seahawks, Mariners, and Blazers fan. After being a homemaker, she was a school bus driver and had a heart for her special education students.

Jan was a Christian her entire life. She loved the Lord and lived her faith every day.

Jan will be forever missed by her son, Jason Geis; daughter, Tina Diehl and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Jake Geis, Jordan Geis, and Gisele Diehl; sister, Joanie Sheron and husband Rich; nephews, Chuck Sheron and wife Angie, Chad Sheron and wife Kim, and Adam Sheron.

The celebration of her life and reception will be on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vancouver. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery.

Of all the classmates I thought she would outlast us all. We were good and faithful friends from at least Shumway on. I can't remember when she got to Vancouver. She was taller than all of us and such a pretty girl. She wasn't afraid to step outside the box and I loved her for that. I talked to her on the phone only a few months ago and she was excited about her grands in sports. I just want her beloveds to know that she was always the glue of the team. Blessings to you all.
