Janice Sneed Hall

HALL, Janice Sneed, 83, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2023, at home after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and brother. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Hall; daughters, Suzanne Jones (Kellie) and Nancy Spence (Jeff); grandchildren, Amanda Dance (Justin), Rowan, Aiden and Alayna Spence; great-grandchildren, Camden and Charlotte Dance; sisters, Mary Alice Harris (Tim) and Linda Daniel; a special aunt, Ann Carrol; and her daughters, Cheri Brandl, Julie Powell, Janice Linett. Jan was born June 23, 1939 in Murphy, N.C. She lived most of her life in or around Norfolk, Va. She and Robert met on her 16th birthday and have been together ever since. They settled in Richmond after living in Blacksburg while Robert was in school at Virginia Tech. Meadowbrook is where they bought their first home and made lifelong friends to this day. Jan and Robert loved to travel, first in the states and then abroad. They both loved to explore new places and took their grandchildren on many new adventures. Jan also had a love for painting, and was passionate about creating watercolors from their travels around the world and her grandchildren. Over the last years of her life, she was blessed to have her great-grandchildren, Camden and Charlotte, over often to make her smile. Jan and Robert have been longtime devoted members of St. Luke's United Methodist Church for over 40 years. Though she was unable to attend church in her final years, she always enjoyed visits from her minister, Rev. Lisa Sykes. The family would also like thank Kellie Johnston with Hospice of Virginia and Karmen Gustin for the wonderful care they have provided over the past couple of years. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Bliley's – Chippenham, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where a funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023.
