FLETCHER - Janice Irene Hart, 87, of Fletcher, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Koester Pavilion in Troy.
Janice was born on August 31, 1937, in Lima, Ohio to the late Harold Kenneth and Nellie Irene (Hixenbaugh) Schrader.
Janice was a 1955 graduate of Lima Central High School and went on to become a registered nurse after graduating from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing. On January 12, 1958, Janice married the love of her life, Donald. Together, they built a wonderful life full of love, family, and treasured memories.
She was a dedicated member of the Fletcher Lioness Club, Fletcher United Methodist Church, and the Miami County Farm Bureau. In her leisure time, Janice had many passions. She loved taking vacation cruises, where she found joy in exploring new places. Janice also cherished going out to lunch with family and friends, enjoying good food and even better company. She had a special love for puzzles, spending countless hours piecing them together, always seeking the satisfaction of completing a challenge. Janice's kindness, laughter, and loving presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Diane (John) Yingst of Fletcher, Debbie (Doug) Straight of Springfield, Marcia Hafer of Fletcher; son, Jim (Melinda) Hart of Troy; grandchildren, Jason (Karianne) Hart, Amy (Alex) Dow, Emily Hart, Dustin (Allie) Hafer, M Hafer, Lindsey Yingst; great grandchildren, Nolan, Riley, Hudson, Hazel & Harvey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Janice is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Richard Hart; her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Schrader.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 P.M. on Monday March 3, 2025, in Suber, Shively and Vernon Funeral Home, Fletcher, OH. Memorial service will follow at 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Egbert officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Miami County, 3230 N County Rd 25A, Troy, OH 45373. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.vernonfh.com.
