Janice Anne Pavlicek was born on May 18, 1954 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, North Dakota to John G. and Mary (Tuhy) Pavlicek. She grew up and attended school in Dickinson, where she later earned her GED. Following her education, Janice started work as a waitress, and later moved into working as a CNA in home healthcare.
Jan was blessed with four children, Cory, Carrie, Colta, and David.
Jan found true happiness and the love of her life in her husband, Kevin Rohr. They were married in Dickinson on August 19, 2022 in the backyard of Jim and Traci Hauck. Jan and Kevin continued to make their home in Dickinson until her passing.
Jan enjoyed gardening and could often be found doodling flowers on any scrap of paper she could find, including napkins. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, especially soup. She combined her love of soup and bingo when she would go to the Trinity Mardi Gras every year. Jan liked shopping and was always searching for a good bargain. She loved going to the farmers market and antique stores.
Above anything else, Jan was a caretaker at heart. She worked in healthcare for over 45 years, touching many lives with her caring passion and kindness. Jan was a mother to everyone she met, feeding anyone that passed through her house. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She was so much more than family – she was a constant source of love, wisdom, and happiness. Her kindness impacted everyone around her, and her spirit will forever live on in the memories she leaves behind. Even though she’s no longer with us physically, her love and light will always guide us.
Jan is survived by her husband, Kevin; children, Cory (Amanda) Myran, Carrie (Jay) Jahner, Colta Myran, and David C. Myran; grandchildren, John, Carly, Madelyn, Thomas (June), Justin (Lily), Joshua (Becky), Drake, Olivia, Tyler, and Remmi; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Pavlicek, Bob (Mary) Pavlicek, and Don (Faye) Pavlicek; siblings-in-law, Tom (Debbie) Rohr, Pam Pavlicek, and Kim (Carla) Rohr; her loving friend and niece, Traci (Jim) Hauck; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; parents-in-law, Richard and Angie Rohr; and brothers-in-law, Tim Rohr and Rick Rohr; and infant sibling, Baby Pavlicek.
