Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Janice was called to be with her Savior January 2nd, 2025 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. She had many things she loved - painting, cheering her Georgia Bulldogs and being with family and friends.
Janice graduated from Forest Park High School in 1966, marrying her husband, James R. Johnson, shortly after, with her son, Larry A. Johnson, being born in 1968. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother whose love cannot be matched. Janice began working for Merico/Sara Lee in 1977, holding several positions before retiring in 2012.
When in afflictions valley, I'm treading the road of care,
My Savior helps me to carry my cross when heavy to bear;
My feet entangled with briars, ready to cast me down;
My Savior whispered His promise Never to leave me alone.
Her Savior was always with her, helping her to fight when she felt like giving up. To hope when life felt hopeless. Now He is holding her close, letting her know that He was and always will be with her.
Janice was preceded in death by her Husband, James R. Johnson; Father, Horace C. Starnes; and Stepmother, Bonnie Starnes. She is survived by her Mother, Mary B. Starnes; Son, Larry A. Johnson (Robyn); Grandson, Cody A. Johnson; Sister, Karen S. Haney (Dwight); and Nephews, Brandon Haney (Koral) and Jantson Haney (Lisa).
