Our mom, Janice Lenz, passed from this earth on March 26, 2019 in Concord, NH after a brief illness. A vigil of song and memories took place by Mom's side as she slowly let go, and let the angels carry her off to join the love of her life, our Dad, Robert Lenz, who passed on September 15, 2016. Janice was born and raised in Nashua, NH on September 17, 1935. She, and her twin sister, Janet were the youngest of 10 children. She was the daughter of Jean Baptiste and Victoria (Ouellette) LaQuerre. She grew up in the Crown Hill section of Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School '54. She met Dad in December of 1956 and after a brief courtship they married on February 18, 1957 in Plymouth, NH. Janice began her own "career" as an Air Force wife and spent those years at Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH, Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY and Kadena AFB, Okinawa. During their 59 years of marriage, Janice was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She and Dad had four children, all of whom were able to spend time with her in her final moments. Janice is survived by her daughter Melanie Lenz from Kernersville, NC, Brenda Schmieder and her husband Paul of Concord, NH, Robin Martin and her husband Paul of Danville, NH and Curtis Lenz and his fiancé Desiree Jubinville of Nashua, NH. Her beloved niece, Rosemary Bufano LaQuerre of Yonkers, NY, and her husband John arrived to spend those precious few hours with her. Janice was Gramma to 3 grandchildren: Matthew and Joshua Cauthren of Kernersville, NC and Emily Schmieder of Concord, NH. She was a great-grandmother to Jace Cauthren of Kernersville, NC. Mom spent the last year and half at Granite Ledges in Concord, NH. And although Dad was not by her side, she found joy in her days. She made new friends, went on excursions, and was always ready for a game of Scrabble or UNO. As a family, we were blessed to know that she was loved and well cared for. Janice will be remembered for her delightful sense of humor, her infectious laugh and smile. Mom loved the ocean, and the Hawaiian islands were a magical place for her and Dad. She created beautiful handmade sweaters and cross-stitched pieces. She loved crossword puzzles, playing cards and Scrabble. Family time was cherished and she loved to have her family around her. But, what she loved the most of all was being with Dad. They were the kind of couple who still lay side by side and told each other stories at night, who held hands when they walked, and who are finally and eternally back together again. Services will be held on Friday, April 5 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire at 172 King St in Boscawen, NH. An informal gathering of friends and family will begin at 10 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. Graveside service will follow immediately after at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NH Veterans Cemetery Association. P.O. Box 626 Concord, NH 03302. or online at www.nhsvc.com.
