Janice C. Matthews, 84, of Eustis, Florida, passed away on December 21, 2024. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Samuel and Josephine Barber, and made the move to Eustis in 2019 from Davie, Florida.
Janice dedicated her professional life to serving as a secretary for a medical equipment supply company until her retirement. She was an active member of the Pontoon Yacht Club, where she enjoyed spending her time with fellow members.
Janice was predeceased by her beloved brother, Joseph S. Barber, and sister, Shirley Kanelos. She leaves behind her loving companion, William E. "Bill" Byczek, her daughter Dominica J. (John) DeBrawere of Marianna, FL, and two sons, Nicholas J. (Linda) Parrott of Eustis, FL, and Alan J. (Barbara) Parrott, Jr. of Quincy, FL. Janice cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, and she is survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family and friends.
A memorial service to honor Janice's life will be held at Victory Church in Dona Vista on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janice may be made to St. Jude’s's Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are entrusted to Harden/Pauli Funeral Home in Eustis, Florida. An online guestbook is available at www.hardenpauli.com. Janice will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
