Janice Mericka, 65, of Summerfield, a devoted wife, loving mother, and passionate foodie, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love.
Janice’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into creating a home filled with kindness, support, and, of course, incredible meals. She believed that food was more than just sustenance, it was a way to bring people together, to celebrate life moments, big and small. Whether she was trying out a new recipe, hosting a dinner for loved ones, or simply sharing a favorite dish, Janice’s love was always best expressed through her cooking.
Her generous spirit and infectious enthusiasm for good food and good company will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. Those who knew her will forever cherish the warmth she brought to every gathering, the wisdom she shared, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Janice is survived by her loving family, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever. While she may no longer be at the table, her love will continue to nourish those she leaves behind.
Janice is survived by husband, Jeff Mericka; children Blair Rehrig and husband Matt and Evan Mericka; brother Geoff Totterweich and wife Kathleen; and her special granddogs Stella and Luna. She was preceded in death by her parents George and June Totterweich; and brother Rob Totterweich.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, March 1st at Wilkerson Funeral Home. In honor of her memory, the family invites friends to share a meal together after the service at the home, just as she would have wanted.
