Janice M. Miller, 78, of McLeansboro and formerly of Carmi passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL. She was born in Chicago, IL the daughter of Louis James and Evelyn A. (Zappendorf) Bozendorf. Janice was a nurse for over 40 plus years. She loved her cat boo, enjoyed watching the movies The Birds, The Fog, and the Harry Potter series. She was a fan of Queen Elizabeth, loved learning anything about Scotland and Canada. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her children, Judy (Tyler Godman) Whitaker of Carmi, Pamala (Randy) Bynum of Carrier Mills, Chris Miller of Eldorado, and Kim (Adam) Milton of Kansas City; grandchildren, Josh, Judi, Jared, Annemarie, Jessica, Samuel, Kelli, Nathan, Angel, Cody, Jacque, Blake, Alisa, Brookyln, and Levi; great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Barrett, Gabe, Dominic, Kason, Kamden, Kaleb, and Jackson; best friend since nine years old, Karen Weissenhofer of Florida; a special friend and neighbor, Lisa Bogardus. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons Joseph “Joey” Zerial and William Burton.
Funeral services and burial for Janice M. Miller will be private. She will be laid to rest in St. John’s Cemetery next to her parents and grandparents.
