Janice Carole Nash passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Jackson, MS. She was 62 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, and again from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday followed by burial in the Garden of Memories.
Jan was born on September 5, 1962, to Bobby Lester Kinabrew and Annette Wilson Kinabrew in McComb, MS. She was raised in Liberty and Pearl, MS, but has resided in Thomasville, MS for the past 40 years. Jan worked as a dispatcher for the Brandon Police Department then went to work for the Bureau of Narcotics as an Intelligence Analyst. Jan then went on to work for the Central Intelligence Bureau as the first intelligence officer until she had her stroke. After that she volunteered talking to other patients with disabilities. She served on the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Brain Injury Association. Jan loved her family, especially her grand boys. They were a special part of her life. She was a very active member of Dry Creek Baptist Church until her health failed her. Before her injury, she also served 6 years with the Monterey Volunteer Fire Department. Jan had a servant’s heart and will truly be missed.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, David Kinabrew. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Nash of Thomasville; daughter, Brittany Greene (Jimmy) of Star; son, Nicholas Nash of Thomasville; brother, Chuck Kinabrew (Mary) of Braxton; sister-in-law, Kecia Kinabrew of Harrisville; grandchildren, Mason Speed and Cooper Speed; nephews, Cody Kinabrew (Reagan) and Parker Kinabrew; and nieces, Madison and Alexis; and numerous family members that loved her.
