Janice Yvonnee Olds, 82, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:11 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born May 3, 1943, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Roy and Jewel (Rife) Ross. She married Merrill Olds on November 18, 1960, in Jennings County; he preceded her in death on January 7, 2016.

Janice worked 40 plus years for Jennings County working in the Auditor's, Clerk and Treasurer's Offices. She collected cookbooks and enjoyed gardening, working outside in the yard, and shopping with her friends. Janice loved visiting and traveling with family and attending all her grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Jill) Olds of Shelbyville and Todd (Karen) Olds of Indianapolis; her daughter, Michelle (Keith) Smith of North Vernon; brother, William "Bill" Ross of Scipio; grandchildren, Ryan (Brittany) Olds, Courtney (Dalton) Prewitt, Kelsey (Kyle) Sutton, Rex (Kate) Olds, Kensley (Justin) Ashcroft, Brooke Stearns, Bo Montwheler, Justin (Patricia) Owens; great-grandchildren, Khycen, Kaydem, and Kraigen Sutton, Valyrie, Kamden, and Josie Ashcroft, Jaxon and Landon Olds, Mason and Cody Olds, Bentlee and Dawson Stearns, Grace, Kendal and Ethan Dunigan, and Sienna and Gemma Owens and Carl Pickard; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; granddaughter, Kirby Dunigan; brother, Mike Ross; and sister-in-law, Kay Ross.

A celebration of life for Janice will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Rudicel Family Event Center, 408 South State Street, North Vernon. Burial will take place at a later date in Scipio Cemetery in Scipio. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

The family request in lieu of flowers memorial donation for Janice be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
