Janice Marie Perry was born on August 22, 1948, and crossed the veil on December 5, 2022

She was born in Reno, Nevada, as Marjorie Sam; her name was changed to Janice Perry when Archie and Edna Perry adopted her. Archie Perry worked for the government agricultural department and frequently moved with his job. Archie Perry worked with the Native people helping them with livestock and farming and served as a Bishop for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Janice attended Northern Arizona University, decided to serve a Mission, and was sent to the New Zealand Mission in 1969. She asked to stay longer because she loved her mission and the people. Then she attended Brigham Young University, where she became a member of the Lamanite Generation with her beautiful alto voice and traveled to the southwest Indian mission.

While at BYU, she was called as Relief Society President and served in many other callings.

She loved her work at the Primary Children's Hospital. She worked as a home caregiver with many elderly folks, including Minerva Teichert an American painter and Helen Kearns Richards, wife of General authority Frank Richards, and Arlette Day from Day Murray Music and many others. All fell in love with Janice because of her kindness and genuine care they received.

Later she established her own business as a Caregiver for many years until her health began declining. She cared for her elderly parents while working full-time in Salt Lake City. At night would travel to Provo to care for them, from laundry, meals, medicines, and wounds and transporting them to appointments. Janice took it as her mission in life. She showed her gratitude to her parents for adopting her. Unfortunately, she suffered from illness for most of her life lupus, scoliosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Janice will be missed by the many people with whom she knew, friends, caregivers, and family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Edna Perry.

She Leaves behind her brothers Edmond and Lloyd Perry and many nephews and nieces, Martha A. Chavez Ojeda, her lifetime friend and sister, and Alejandro Ojeda, who cared for Janice for most of her life, and Annhelicae Scheib, whom she loved and raised.

The following scripture fits Janice's genuine love for others: "And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might".   ~ Deuteronomy 6:5
