Janice Diane Posey, 78, of Tifton, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Services will be held at 5:00pm, on Sunday, July 13th, 2025 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Stacey Phillips officiating and Rev. Daniel Hardy singing.
Janice was born on April 9th, 1947 to the late John and Margie (Porterfield) Renfroe. She was a hard worker, spending many years as a supervisor for Avondale Mills and found her true calling after retiring- being a nanny. She loved surrounding herself with children and cared for them deeply, claiming the precious babies as her own. In her free time, she could be found in her garden tending to her flowers. She had a green thumb and could create beautiful arrangements from her garden. She was a woman of great faith, attending Liberty Baptist Church for many years before joining Northside Baptist Church. Janice was always up for a change of scenery, especially to the mountains which was her happy place. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Survivors include her two sons: Jamie (Kathy) Posey and John (Marcie) Posey, grandchildren: Tyler (Alexis) Green, Tanner Green, Macie Green, Tucker Green, Tristyn (Jack) Stevens, and Jackson Posey, honorary grandsons: Davis and John Ivey Luke, and one great granddaughter Adalyn "Addy" Stevens. She is also survived by her sister Sue Griffin, her brother in law Danny (Norma) Posey, and her sister in law Sue Tanner.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 54 years and best friend, James "Eddie" Posey.
