Janice A. Reed, 89, of Cambridge, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Hillcrest Home, rural Geneseo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17th at the Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge. Rev. Matt Kamprath will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Lutheran Church, the Cambridge Ambulance, or Hillcrest Home Activity Fund.

Janice Anne Vincent was born August 19, 1935 in Kewanee, the daughter of Fred W. and Mabel T. (Ericison) Vincent. She went to the Middle District rural school near Ulah and later attended eighth grade and high school in Cambridge, graduating from Cambridge High School in 1953. Her marriage to Russell Reed took place on November 13, 1953 in Cambridge. They later divorced.

She was employed as an Office Deputy at the Henry County Sheriff's Office in Cambridge for 40 years, until retiring in 2001. Her memberships included the Cambridge Lutheran Church, the WELCA group of the church, Valley View Country Club, Cambridge, and the Moose Lodge No. 990 in Geneseo, where she was a 50 year member. Janice enjoyed golf, gardening, and her grandchildren.

Those surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bryan Horberg, Cambridge, two grandsons, Weston (Greisy) Horberg, Wildwood, Missouri, Tyler (Ashley) Horberg, Cambridge, great grandchildren, Emilia, Noemi, and Baker, and a sister-in-law Susan Vincent. Other survivors include two nieces, Karey Fryer and Kristen Vincent, and a nephew, Ryan Vincent. Her parents and a brother, William Vincent preceded her in death.
