Janice Marie Rock was born on June 8, 1958, to parents L. Edward and Delores (Bennett) Rock, in Owosso, Michigan. Growing up, Janice attended a school for special needs in Houghton Lake, Michigan.
After her graduation, Delores cared for Janice until she was unable to. Janice then moved to South Carolina, where she moved in with her uncle, Robert Bennett, who cared for her twelve years. Janice then moved to Iowa to be closer to family, and most recently, she lived at Comp Systems in Charles City until her passing. She loved living at Comp Systems. She often spoke highly of her time there, she enjoyed working, her shopping trips, and bowling.
Even though Janice had mental limitations, that did not stop her. She truly enjoyed life, the friends she made, and spending time with her family. Janice was a huge Elvis fan, and she loved doing puzzles, coloring, and traveling to the Black Hills and Graceland. To know Janice was to love her! She will be dearly missed.
Janice is survived by her siblings, Robert Rock, Debra (John) Bennett, Stephen (JoAnn) Rock, Edward (Janet) Rock, and Michelle Kelly; several nieces and nephews, and her dear friends at Comp Systems.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, L. Edward and Delores Rock; niece, Amber Rock; special uncle, Robert Bennett; and friend, Lori Dale.
