Janice Lee Rucker Meyer

Janice Lee Meyer of Vancouver WA, went home to her lord and savior on August 29th 2023. She was 86 years old. Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Janice Lee Rucker Meyer was born on July 15th 1937 to Kenneth Rucker and Helen Vanovern Rucker, in Adams County Henderson Colorado. Janice was the oldest of her two siblings, Roberta and Jack, and the family moved to Richland WA in 1944. Janice graduated from Columbia high, Richland Washington in 1955 at the age of 17. She then worked as a litmus Dial indicator painter at the Hanford AE G facility for about a year and a half. After sometime, Janice then worked for First Independent Bank, where she retired after 35 years. During her time working at Hanford between 1955 to 1958 she met her soulmate Kenneth Meyer and they were married on Valentine's Day of 1958. Janice and Ken were married for 44 years until his passing in 2002. Shortly after they were married, they had their first child Robert and shortly after that their second son Donald. Janice is survived by her sister Roberta, two children, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren making up five generations before her passing. She's also survived by several sister-in-law's, one brother-in-law and a host of nephews and nieces, and a great aunt.

She enjoyed crafting, bowling, girls' softball and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was an animal lover and loved to watch a good western. She was our rock and the best friend, mother, and grandmother we could have asked for. She was a selfless person who would do anything she could to help others, because that was her nature. She was funny and loved to laugh and crack jokes and her family was her world.

Janice is truly loved by many, and we will miss her tender loving spirit.
