Janice Sillers Obituary

Janice graduated from Sault High School with the Class of 1972. After graduation she attended Central Michigan University and earned a degree in Special Education. She started her career with Soo Township Schools before going to Sault High School, where she taught until her retirement in 2009.
Janice enjoyed reading and cooking. She loved to share her soups and baked goods with others and try her new recipes on them. The Soo Pilots Association often benefited from her soups and great cooking. Janice loved working to raise money to send some of her students to Bay Cliff Camp (children's summer camp) each year. She loved a good laugh and fun with friends. Janice had a very giving heart for others and will be greatly missed by many.
Janice is survived by her husband, Kim of thirty-five years; sister, Terri (Richie) Badenski of Sault Ste. Marie; aunt, Ruth Wilson of Sault Ste. Marie; uncle, James Glander of DeSoto, Texas; in-laws, William R. "Jake" Sillers, Jake (Maureen) Sillers, Gar (Marilyn) Sillers of Sault Ste. Marie, Jill Sillers of Saginaw, Michigan, and Jan (Paul) Sampson of Montague, Michigan; loving nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Joyce Firack, Ken and Jeanne McCulligh; and beloved cat, Mini Rose.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marian; and grandparents, James and Ada Smart, Robert and Eunice Wilson.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the First United Presbyterian Church, 555 Bingham Ave, Sault Ste. Marie Michigan, 49783, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 Noon with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ball Hospice House, 308 W 12th Ave., Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783 or the Chippewa Animal Shelter, 3660 S. Mackinac Trail, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
Family Life Funeral Homes Sault Ste. Marie assisted the family with arrangements. Condolences may be left to the family at www.familylifefh.com.
