Janice Squire Erskine, age 86, of Forest City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Fairhaven Home in Bostic.
Janice was born Tuesday, October 31, 1939 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Maynard Squire and Dorothy Cate Squire. She was a licensed Cosmetologist/Beautician for many years having owned and operated the Salon 77 in New Hampshire. Janice was a past member of Crestview Baptist Church and was presently a member at Grace Chapel of Forest City. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing sacred music at church and in her home. Janice composed several original songs for others to enjoy. She was a devoted Christian, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, David John Erskine, Sr; a son-in-law, George Allen and brothers, David and Donald Squire.
Those left to honor her memory include daughters, Robin Fazzari (Carmine) of Ellenboro and Dorothy “Dotty” Allen of Rutherfordton; son, David John Erskine, Jr. of Forest City; sister, Judy Elwell (John) of Rochester, New Hampshire; grandchildren, Steffan Fazzari (Alexandra), Lucas Fazzari and Arianna Bare (Sebastian); and a newborn great granddaughter, Georgia Arianna Bare.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18th at Grace Chapel with Reverend Paul McGinnis and Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. Interment will be private at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
