Janice Watson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP - West 38th St. on Feb. 3, 2026.
Janice M. Watson, of Erie, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 2, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Erie, a daughter of the late Joseph Strocky and Jeanne (Kelly) Strocky.

Janice was a graduate of Academy High School and over the years she wore many hats – sewing class instructor, exceptional seamstress, co-owner of an Irish import store, Tipperary West, realtor and legal secretary.

Janice loved to travel, especially to Ireland, which she visited more than 30 times over the years. She made lifelong friends there and grew to love both the country and its people. Janice was very strong and independent and always looked for the silver lining in every situation. She had a fun-loving spirit and a flair for style, always enjoying being a little different. When met with a challenge, she was determined to find a solution. Janice was also a wonderful storyteller, with a great sense of humor, and a talented cook. Her deep love for her family – especially the selfless care she showed her husband over the past two years – spoke volumes about her strength and loyalty and will always be remembered. Janice will be greatly missed.

Janice is survived by her husband of 57 years, John (Jack) Watson; her two daughters, Kathy Brugger, husband L.J., and Emily Watson; her four grandchildren, Danny and Rachel Brugger and Alexis and Anthony Mobilia; and many friends, including her dear friends, Bonnie and Elaine.

Services were private. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street, handled arrangements. Memorials may be made to any local animal shelter. Condolences may be expressed at www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com.

Jack & Family,

Joe and I were shocked to hear of Janice's passing. She was a great friend and a lot of fun. She made Happy Hours special and always looked out for her friends. She was also a pleasure to work with. My greatest memory is of Captiva and all the fun we had together.
Please know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
Joe and Ann Marie Sullivan

Jack and family,
God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Janice was my best friend when we were 18 and 19 years of age. We went everywhere together and had such fun times. I wish we could have reconnected somehow but life takes us in different directions. I will never forget the friendship we had. May she RIP.
