Janice S. Woods

Janice Sue Woods, 83, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, MO surrounded by her family. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. David Land will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment of her urn will be at a later date at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Bowling Green, MO.
Janice was born on September 20, 1942 in Salem, MO to Burtis Jewel Cover and Martha Marie Dollmeyer Cover. She was married to Roy Woods on October 7, 1961 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2017.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Peabody (Kenny) of Louisiana, MO, a special son Joe Cover (Karen) of Bowling Green, MO, 2 grandchildren Matt Peabody and Jeff Peabody (Jasmine), 6 great grandchildren Caitlyn Bilhartz, Cassius Peabody, Coleman Peabody, Charlotte Peabody, Ariana Peabody, and Kaytumn Faudi, a sister Penny Morris of Lebanon, MO, and nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother Bill, 3 sisters Edna, Dorothy, and Rita, and her special puppy Sam.
Janice was employed with Louisiana Plastics in Louisiana, MO for 30 years and after her retirement she worked at the Louisiana Elementary School kitchen for several years. She was a member of the Peno Baptist Church. She loved crafts, rock hunting, making flower arrangements, painting, sewing, and camping with her family and friends. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together and spending time with her close friends Veda, Wanda, Violet, Ginner, and Philip.
