Janice Adele Yake (née Ross) passed away on November 14, 2024, in Gulfport, MS, at the age of 83. Born on July 24, 1941, in Cuddy, Pennsylvania, she lived a life marked by the love and respect of those who knew her. Janice will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Janice was married to her husband George Louis Yake and they were married for 62 years. George preceded her in death in 2023.

Janice was a graduate of South Fayette High School near Pittsburgh PA. Janice is the daughter of James and Charlotte Zimmerman Ross. She was Catholic by faith. She is survived by her brother Harold Ross of Des Moines, IA and preceded in death by her brother Claire Ross, sister Donna Gardener, and sister Patty Kotar.

Janice raised her children in Cecil, PA and enjoyed the kids sports and activities and was a dedicated mother. Janice enjoyed friends, family gatherings and homemaking. She also watched the occasional Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin game. George and Janice later moved to places like St. Louis, MO, Ashland, KY and later returned to Pittsburgh near McMurray, PA. As empty nesters they spent several years in Birmingham, AL and later moved to Acworth, GA. Her son Dean Yake and daughter in law Deanna Yake reside in Gulfport MS and her youngest son Dale Yake of Atlanta GA. They were preceded in death in 1962 by son George Louis Yake Jr. Janice thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren as they held a special place in her heart. Grandchildren include Alex Lebron, Abigail Yake, Aidan Yake, and Finley Yake.

Memorial Service is planned for Gulfport MS and in lieu of flowers please make donations to For U Rehab in Jamaica https://www.friendsoftheredeemer.org/.
