Janie M. Buck, 54, of Morley, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 28, 1971, in Lakeview, the daughter of Roger and Kathleen (Hulbert) Garlick.
On September 27, 2008, she was united in marriage to Phillip Buck. Together they shared a life filled with fun and adventure.
Janie worked for Heavenly Vineyards in Morley, where she took great pride in caring for customers and building relationships. It perfectly suited her favorite indulgence - red wine paired with sharp cheddar cheese.
She loved watching the birds, tackling a new puzzle, and cheering on football games. Janie embraced the outdoors and adventure, whether going to the beach, fishing, camping, or simply soaking up the sun. Devoted to her faith, she was an active member of ResLife Church in Big Rapids, where she formed many meaningful friendships and joyfully shared her love for Jesus.
Above all, Janie adored her family and treasured her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Buck; children, Joshua (Morgan) Buck, Katherine (Travis) Hartline, Brandon (Taylor) Buck, Jenna (Cade) Dyhr, Joshua (Hailey Ecker) Hershberger, and Anna Claire Hershberger; grandchildren, Emily, Hadley, Oliver, Laynee, Ellie, Nina, Braxton, and Ivory; her mother, Kathleen Plath; siblings, Fred (Joann) Plath, Robert (Maritza) Plath, Raymond Plath, Sharon (Rex) Mumah, Roger (Tracy) Garlick, Michelle (Greg) Griffes, Alan (Amy) Laper, and Mandy Hyrns; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roger Garlick; and bonus father, Fred Plath; and her granddaughter, Lily.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 11 a.m. at ResLife Church in Big Rapids. Visitation will take place on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Homes, Big Rapids, and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow. She will be laid to rest at Reynolds Township Cemetery in Howard City.
