Janie Lee Machens (née: Powers) of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 58. She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Machens of Saint Charles, Missouri; son, Joey Machens; daughter, Stacey Machens; sister, Jackie (John) Hasse; sister-in-laws, Mary (Jason) Montani and Marlene (Jeremy) Spurling; nephew, Max Scull; two nieces, Tiffany (Tom Rund) Scull, and Mallory (Jake) Romig; She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Powers, mother, Mary Lee Powers (née: Schneider), and sister, Janet Momphard.

Raised in Flint Hill, Missouri, Janie was the beloved daughter of the late Donald and Mary Lee. She grew up alongside her two sisters, Jackie and the late Janet.
In 1999, Janie married Donald, and celebrated many wonderful years together. From this union they were blessed, with two beautiful children, Joey and Stacey.
Janie had an infectious love for life that touched everyone she met. Known for her gift of conversation and a great sense of humor. She often delighted in telling the story of how "her dad traded her for a bulldozer."
Her passions were many and varied. Janie treasured her travels, exploring new places and creating lasting memories. She was a devoted member of her bunco group, cherishing the camaraderie and fun with her lady friends. Whether she was dancing the night away or taking a refreshing swim, Janie embraced every moment with enthusiasm and grace. Janie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
