Janis Clothier passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital on Thursday morning, July 17th. After a long battle with cancer, she is at rest with the Lord.

Janis Jirikowic Clothier was born on August 1st, 1937, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, to Louis and Grace (Brixius) Jirikowic. She attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and went on to graduate from Mt. Sinai School of Nursing in Milwaukee. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital and the American Red Cross.

She married Elton Forrest “Frosty” Clothier on May 16, 1959, and they were blessed with three sons: Michael in 1961, Steven in 1965, and Robert in 1971. Janis and Frosty took ownership of the Central Drug pharmacy in Green Bay in 1972 and remained owners for 22 years.

Janis was a charter member of the Pharmacy Auxiliary and first president of the club. She volunteered for the West High blood donor program, attended a homemaker’s club, and served as co-president of the Green Bay Nursery School. In addition to keeping a beautiful home and feeding her family, she drove for countless rounds of carpools and sports activities for her three sons.

In retirement, Janis and Frosty enjoyed travels to their snowbird home in Gulf Shores, AL and time with their family.

Janis is preceded in death by her husband Frosty Clothier and her parents Louis and Grace Jirikowic.

She is survived by her sons Michael (Jeanne), Steven (Angie), and Robert (Sharon), grandchildren Alexander, Morgan, Will and Henry, and great grandchildren Milo and Ollie. She is also survived by her sister JoAnn Hannan, brother Louis “Jackie” (Mary) Jirikowic, sister-in-law Marianne (Don) Williams, sister-in-law Suzanne Jonas, and their extended families.

A small family ceremony will be held at a later date. The family thanks the caring staff of St. Vincent Hospital for their compassionate and skilled care. In lieu of flowers, Janis requested that donations be sent to St. John’s Ministries serving the homeless in Green Bay, WI
