Janis Gay Terrell

Janis Gay Terrell, a beloved figure of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away at the age of 74. Born on November 28, 1951, in Naples, Texas, Janis was known for her caring, compassionate, and dedicated spirit.

Janis shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Jack Terrell, of Daingerfield. She was a proud alumna of Daingerfield High School, Kilgore Junior College, and Stephen F. Austin University. Professionally, Janis dedicated over two decades of heartfelt service as the Church Secretary at Daingerfield Church of Christ, where she was also a devout member. Her love for the Lord and her church family was evident in all she did.

Beyond her professional and spiritual commitments, Janis had a passion for shopping and was remarkably talented at decorating, creating beautiful and welcoming spaces.

She leaves behind a loving family: her loving husband, Jack Terrell of Daingerfield; her sister, Vickie Warden of Daingerfield; brothers, David Allen and Michael Allen, both of Daingerfield; along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Loyal and Mary Ida Allen, and her nephew, Phillip Warden.

Janis Gay Terrell will be dearly missed, but her warm spirit and devout faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 30, 2025 in the Chapel of Horn Family Funeral Home with Tim Gibbs and Mark White officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery in Jenkins. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM prior to the service.
