Janita Dockery Logan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 17, 2025.
Janita Morie Dockery-Logan, affectionately known as Jen, was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love. Born on March 14, 1946, in Kingsvale, Hanover, to Eglantine Crooks-Cummings and Frank Dockery, she grew up from humble beginnings and faced life's challenges with resilience and faith.
She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and dear friend to all who knew and loved her. Of her 15 siblings, she leaves behind four sisters-Violet, Peps, Sylvia, and Judith-two brothers-Ainsworth and Wilburn-and countless nieces and nephews.
In her late teens, destiny led her to Kingston, where she met Vincent Logan. Their union blossomed for 62 years, raising six children: Alan, Courtney, Alethia, Kirk, Kimika, and Trudy-Ann. She lovingly embraced her bonus children, Carol and Jacqueline, and welcomed her in-laws Wendy, Ali, Shelly, and Jaimel into the family. Mom was blessed with eight grandchildren-Stephan, Alyssa, Aliana, Danae, Naarh, Ayanna, Aaron, and Kira-and her great-granddaughter, Malia.
Janita was the heart of our home-creating warmth, laughter, and unforgettable meals. She was funny, loving, and selfless-a woman who lived peacefully and chose kindness always. She taught her family the importance of education, faith in God, and compassion for others. Her life reflected Proverbs 31: a virtuous woman clothed in strength and dignity.
In 2004, she migrated to the United States, became a citizen, and worked as a home health aide, caring for others with the same compassion she showed her family. Even in her final months, Janita remained positive and prayerful, surrounded by her loving family.
Though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her love will forever echo in our lives.
Rest well Mommy. We are thankful to God for blessing us with you.
