Dunn, NC: Mrs. Janna Adams Dorman, age 78, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM-1:45PM-Monday, March 30, 2026 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church, Benson, NC. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00PM in the church sanctuary. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. A Private Committal Service will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Dorman was born on March 15, 1948, in Johnston County, NC to the late Jader Adams and Ethel Dunn Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her daughter, Amy Jo Faircloth, and a brother, Charlie Chuck Adams. In her earlier years, Mrs. Dorman worked at South Johnston High School as a secretary, with Champion Products as a scheduler, and most recently worked with the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science. She was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. Mrs. Dorman loved going fishing at the beach, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren, especially her great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her smile and willingness to always help someone.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Russell Terry Dorman, children, Amanda G. Blackman (Jerry), and Russell Terry Dorman, Jr.; grandchildren, Chassidy Koon, (Jon), Harley Blackman, Josh Faircloth (Sammie), Amber Hicks, Jeramy Faircloth (Kayla), Jaret Blackman (Devyn), Paige Collins, (DJ), Andrew Faircloth, and Dallas Allen, great-grandchildren, Danni, Paisley, Zayden, Amy, Bridges, and John Wesley; brothers, Joel Adams, and Ira Dunn and wife, Judy; several nieces and nephews.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers, and are receiving friends at other times at the home.
