Patricia Jannette Crews joined a number of dearly loved family members and friends in her heavenly home on October 23, 2025. She and her identical twin sister, Vivian Annette Cummings, were born on June 7, 1939. They were the daughters of the late Laverne Davidson (Euther Davidson) of Jackson, TN, and the late Joe L. Harrington of Louisville, KY. Her grandparents were the late Celia and Hubert Underwood of Halls, TN.
She attended Jackson city schools and graduated from Jackson High School, Class of 1957. She often said the fifties were a special time in her life, filled with treasured memories of her classmates. She especially cherished her years as a majorette for the JHS Golden Bears, where she proudly twirled baton throughout her entire high school tenure.
In 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, James (Jimmy) M. Crews, who remained the love of her life for more than 60 years, and preceded her in death in 2018. They were blessed with two sons, James Michael Crews (Lisa) and Jeffery Mark Crews (Donna). Jannette loved being a mother and chose to stay home during their formative years. Her family was always at the center of her heart, and she filled their lives with love, support, and countless memories.
In 1973, she earned her real estate license and began an active and successful career as a real estate broker, serving the Jackson community until 2009. Her accomplishments include GRI – Graduate of the Realtor Institute (1974), CRS – Certified Residential Specialist (1988), graduating from Leadership Jackson (1988), and served on the Madison County Board of Equalization. She was also active with the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, serving as a Red Coat Representative and earning an honorary lifetime membership for her dedicated service.
Jannette was a woman of deep faith and a long-time member of Englewood Baptist Church, joining in 1964. She served as a Sunday School teacher for several years. She formed many cherished friendships through her church family and carried her faith gracefully throughout her life. She also loved football, especially her Tennessee Volunteers, and she enjoyed many memorable game days in Neyland Stadium.
Jannette is survived by her twin sister Annette Cummings, son James Michael Crews and wife Lisa; Donna Crews, widow of her youngest son, Jeffery Mark Crews, who preceded her in death in 2014; niece Amy Cummings Boyd (Jeff Boyd), four grandchildren, Jeffery Crews, Jennifer Crews, James Crews, and Loren Crews Knox and husband Tyler; and three great-grandchildren, Tucker Knox, Henry Knox, and Aleah Pevahouse. Her love, warmth, and spirit will live on in each of them.
