One special Earth Angel gained her wings......!
Janyce was such a kind gem. I was lucky to have both Lydia and Janyce encourage us and make us feel a little less stressed (if that was even possible) during our written anesthesia exam in Kentucky. I remember fondly the time Janyce drove me around the beautiful Kentucky countryside, her kindness, our thoughtful conversations and her continuing advice and support related to anesthesia and life over the years. Janyce had a wonderful sense of humor, she was incredibly smart and yet so humble about her gifts. I am grateful for the time spent with her.
These are incredibly sad news and a reminder to not let a busy life get in the way of reaching out to dear friends.
Janyce will be dearly missed and remains a wonderful inspiration.
Our thoughts are with you during these very difficult times.

I'm very sorry to hear this news. I first met Jan when I did my board exam in Lexington and she was serving as a host to all of us there. We kept in touch for several years after that and I always enjoyed checking in and hearing how she was doing. As a new member of the ACVAA, she made me feel welcome and valued, something for which I will always be grateful. It can be intimidating to meet the people who came before you who had written books and had all kinds of letters behind their name, but she was always very approachable, gracious and humble (and smart!!). I'm glad to have known her and wish your family all the best at this sad time.

I am saddened at the loss of Janyce. I enjoyed interacting with her at the anesthesia meetings and getting her opinion on case management. I still have her anesthesia book on my shelf!
My sympathy to her family and friends.

Losing you is a catastrophic loss for the profession and the world. Your kindness and strength gave me confidence in anesthesia. I so enjoyed volunteering for the colic team as a student and seeing your mighty knowledge be put to work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Until we meet again.

One of my most favorite favorite teachers. She helped me with anesthesia questions and problems after I graduated. She gave advice and wisdom when I was faced with several species I had never worked on before at Audubon Nature Institute. It is a sad day to learn of her passing. It was always a comfort to know she was a phone call or email away if I got in anesthetic trouble. She was a blessing to the veterinary profession and all who knew her. I always use to tease her about her stripped pants she had when she was at LSU, lol found memory of a laugh we shared. RIP You will live on in your students in the knowledge you gave us, that we pass on to others. Thank you for being my teacher!!
