Jared Pickup Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services - Jay on May 20, 2025.
Jared Ryan Pickup (Toots), age 39, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Hillcrest Medical Center of Tulsa, Oklahoma with his family and friends by his side. He was born on June 16, 1985 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to his parents, Geroge Pickup and Rita Ann Glass.
Toots was a Kansas High School graduate of Kansas, OK and continued with his education attending college. Later he worked with La-Z-Boy over 10 plus years as their Upholsterer. The past year he has worked at Quail Ridge Living Center, Colcord, OK in House Keeping where he enjoyed visiting with all the residents. He was a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church. Toots would light up any room he entered, he was always smiling. He loved to play jokes on everyone, that was just his nature. Toots always had that smirk on his face and when he did, you knew he was up to something. He loved playing with his kids, nieces and nephews, he always had them playing some kind of sport weather it was cornhole, basketball, horseshoes, golf, baseball you name it, he was right there with his family being competitive. Never a dull moment. He also loved playing guitar for his nieces, he knew every song they named, they couldn't believe he not only knew every song they named, but could also play them on the guitar, he loved music just like his mom. Toots and his dad were always together every day, they loved going out to eat and picking up the kids to ride along, he was a good dad and uncle. He always had an ear to listen to his sister Tracy, talk about whatever, it didn't matter what she was going through or needed to talk about, he was there for her. He loved hanging out at her house with her, their brother Stu and all the kids, he was her biggest supporter. Toots loved to play golf with his brother, nephews, and friends. Toots and his brother Stu would play golf every week, that was their bonding time, and we know Toots was definitely keeping score. He would never ever let anyone forget he made a hole in one on the golf course! Toots made friends wherever he went, he had many, many friends, he will be greatly remembered and most of all missed by his family and friends. He was loving, caring and the most kindhearted person you could ever meet. God knew what he was doing when he placed Toots in our lives. He made an impact on all of us; we will forever carry on and share the memories he made with us all and cherish them close to our hearts.
Toots is proceeded in death by his mother Rita Ann Glass; Grandparents John and Sarah Glass, Dick and Ruth Pickup.
Toots is survived by his children Thomas and Remy Pickup; Father Geroge Pickup of Kansas, OK; Brother Stuart Wayne Pickup of Kansas, OK; Sister Tracy Nicole Pickup of West Siloam Springs, OK; Nieces Aubree Tru Dry and Lekyah Nicole Pickup; Nephews Blaine Taylor Pickup, Gage Scott Pickup, Sylas RedEagle Pickup and King Solomon Sanders; extended family and friends.
