Jason Flanders Obituary

Published by Greenwich Village Funeral Home on Jul. 6, 2021.
Jason, the sweetest cousin to me. I'll miss our times on the phone, even writing to me when I was in Kuwait. Drawing sketches of angels so I'd feel protected. He never got tired of me speaking of Jesus with him. Now my Jason is protected and well in heaven. I'd do anything for Jason even get on a train at 2 in the morning just to know he needed me was all the world to me. My forever cousin. I'll miss you always. Thanks for always making me feel so special and being there when I needed a friend. Can't wait to see you again. Love you cousin, Natalie Rath To my dearest Jason, We love and miss you so much. You are always very special to me. You always had a kind word to say about everyone, and a great heart! Loved when you came over to eat with us because you loved food, and family around you. There are no tears in heaven only love. Love you, cousin Christine and Aunt Bessie Sweet, gentle and kindhearted, he was a curly haired butterfly and the best game of Candy Land to my sixteen year old self. My first love and most fundamental interest. When I met Jason my entire world changed. It looked and felt a lot brighter. An intellectual, with an extremely high IQ! To sit and talk with him was to challenge your own understanding of life. CA was our unicorn in the woods. A follower of Christ and a Metaphysical thinker, with endless conversations about abstract concepts such as being, knowing, substance, cause, identity, time, and space. Our adventures consisted of trips to The Strand and Barnes and Nobles. We exchanged book titles, quotes and psychological banter like others traded baseball cards. Jason was so handsome, but it was his extraordinary charisma that trumped his good looks. His energy hit you like lightning & drew you into his world, holding you hostage with a twinkle of his eye! His laugh was funny, genuine & jovial! Before you knew it you were laughing together, for hours without rhyme or reason. He was Mr. Mid-Town and "the" Village kid, our modern day stylish Downtown Guy. The lights were bright with CA, things were great with CA and there was no finer place than you and him in the city that never sleeps. His Empire State. But with tremendous joy, came tremendous pain which weighed heavily on our good-hearted gambler. To think of Jason ($ami-Miami) is to acknowledge the fight he held within himself between the dark and the light, the happy and the sad, the good and the bad but to always remember he was innately kind and his heart beat was for positivity, and receptive to change. He was my Mirror Soul, one of the main characteristics of a twin flame relationship is that it will be both challenging and healing. He loves, but cannot quit his gambling ways. He was our White Lion, a child of the Sun God, sent to earth as a gift. He was warmth and he was passion. Strong, brave, and ready to dominate everything he set out to do. A Leo through and through! And above all his void of presence will forever weigh heavily on our hearts and his home town of NYC. In God he trusted, and so shall we. Love, KaraMia I will always remember how much Jason loved and cared for his family here in Florida. He was always asking about his grandparents and to let them know that he loves them. I will miss his phone calls and text messages which I go through regularly. I'd always look forward to hearing from him whenever he called I still remember the last time I spoke with him. He said "I'll call you right back, I'm just going to take a shower" I will always love you Jason and I pray I will see you again. Love Aunt Dominique and your Grandparents Gerard and Yolande Flanders. "Jason was my best friend; my one, and only best friend. He loved me when I needed love. He protected me when I needed protection. He fed me when I was hungry. He gave a home when I was homeless. He was my best man at my wedding. He was the only friend that I could always count on. He was, and still is my Brother. I love you, Jason. I love you Kathy. " Misterman

Jay,

I will never forget the first time I met you as a little boy when your Mommy brought you in to work one day. You made such an impression on me because you were so smart, polite, and handsome.

Throughout the years experiencing life in life terms, the happy times we celebrated and the heartaches will remain in my memories. You left us way too early.

I loved most how receptive you always were whenever we spoke about The Lord. May you rest in His arms for eternity, until we all meet again cuz.

Reluctantly saying goodbye
Evelyn
