Although, I only knew Jason for a short time, he had left an everlasting impression on me and all those who knew him. Jason was a sensitive and compassionate individual, who had a terrific sense of humor. And finally, Jason was a respected police officer, who had a flair for dealing with people.

I was with Jason when he passed, so he did not leave this world alone, he left it with a friend, me...

Peace my brother. You will be missed....

I think I'll miss the passion Gater had for his opinions most of all. It's hard to imagine that I'll never again have the chance to argue for hours, about anything, with him and still not gain an inch of ground. I have so many memories dating back to high school, but the college memories are the best. I'll never be able to think back to college without also thinking of Gater.

What can I say...we will all miss Mr. Gater dearly. All the "ham and eggers" have fond memories, and rest assured they will never be forgotten. Thank you for all the good times you brought myself and the rest of the us. Again Jason will be missed more than words can say....goodbye J.

I have known Jason(Gater) for several years now and have shared countless memories.

He was always the life of the party, cracking everyone up with his off-beat sense of humor.

I will remember Gater for his contagious laugh, his never-ending hugs, and his caring heart.

Gater is an unforgettable soul and will be greatly missed, more than he will ever know.

He will always be my one and only

"Chandler-Bing"...

Miss you already... Kelly

Gater was a wonderful friend and has left us with endless memories. My fondest memories go back to our weekends at Como - this was where our true friendship formed and from which a majority of the embarrassing stories began. I will always remember his laugh, his big hugs, his over-exaggerated stories, and most of all his smile. His love of Seinfeld and movie one-liners provided us with many hours of entertainment. I will cherish these memories forever!! Gater has always been there for Matt and I - it saddens me to imagine him feeling that he was alone in the end. He will always, always hold a VERY special place in my heart. We love you Gater - always and forever!!!!!!!!!

Jason was a good friend of mine! He left too early. I think that he will be remembered by his laugh & his "Giddy-Up" attitude! His loss is tough; but all of those who called him 'Friend' have a common bond....

We'll miss you Jay!

Jason was, is and always will be a great friend to me and many great people around me. Thinking back on the years I have known Jason, many memories stick out. High school, College, but one in particular that sticks out is when Jason was working in Crystal as a police officer. Every few days Jason used to stop by for lunch, dinner or a snack and hang out for a little while at my house. I often always wondered what my neighbors thought with this Crystal police car pulling up in front of my house every few days. I can't even imagine the stories my neighbors probably created. But, at those times I always could see Jason was happy and felt successful and important standing there in his uniform. It also made me feel even better knowing a great friend was looking over his shoulder at me and my home. Over the years I have known Jason I have had many great times and many great moments with Jason and because of this I will remember him and celebrate his life forever.

God bless

Your friend forever
