We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jason Gruett, age 51, of Goodview, MN, on March 12, 2025. Jason was born on February 9, 1974, in Minneapolis, MN. He was a proud member and Chief of the Goodview Volunteer Fire Department for over 19 years and worked for Wabasha Sand and Gravel for 34 years. Jason brought joy and compassion to his service in the community, touching the hearts of many.
He was Julie's beloved husband, father to Christian, Carly, and Carissa, and grandfather to Haizley. Jason had a passion for cars, hockey, and his family.
He is survived by his wife Julie, his children Christian (Sarah), Carly, and Carissa, and his grandchild Haizley.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 19, at 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Hoff Funeral Home, 3480 Service Drive, Goodview, MN. The funeral service will be held at Remlinger Collector Car Museum, 3560 Service Drive, Winona, MN, on Thursday, March 20, at 11:00 AM. Friends are welcome to begin arriving at 9:30 AM to be seated for the service. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Minneiska, MN.
Memorials are preferred to Goodview Fire Relief Association.
For friends and the general public attending the funeral service for Chief Gruett, parking will be available in the Hoff Celebration of Life Center parking lot and the old Wells Fargo parking lot. There will be some parking available at Remlinger Collector Car Museum, but this should be reserved for those that need to park closer. Overflow seating will be available at Hoff Celebration of Life Center where the service will be shown via the livestream.
The community is encouraged to line the streets in Goodview during the procession to show their support for Chief Gruett and his family. Please see the procession map below for the route.
