Jason Heath Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 3, 2025.
Jason Andrew Heath, 46, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on December 2, 2025, at UF Health St. Johns, surrounded by his loving family.

Jason was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, and proudly joked about being a "redneck." He graduated from Wheeling Park High School in 1997 and immediately joined the United States Marine Corps. During his five years of service, he served as an Intermediate Avionics Technician and also performed as a Collateral Duty Inspector, ensuring avionics equipment was safe for flight.

After honorably serving his country, Jason worked as a Field Service Technician for New Flyer Industries, specializing in electronics and high-voltage systems for electric mass transit vehicles. He was an integral part of the Field Service Team; his dedication, professionalism, and kindness made a lasting impact on all who worked with him. Jason played a key role in the launch of their electric buses, often traveling extensively with demo units to provide support. Beyond his contributions at work, he was a valued friend who brought warmth, positivity, and camaraderie wherever he went.

In 2006, Jason met the love of his life, Heather, and they were married on August 1, 2009. In 2014, they relocated their family to St. Augustine to enjoy the warm beaches and Florida lifestyle.

Jason enjoyed working with his hands, keeping himself busy with projects and repairs. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and cherished spending time with his family and friends. His laughter, skill, and devotion to those he loved will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Heather Heath; children, William Edgar and Emmie Lu Edgar; parents, Bruce Heath and Mary Jane Heath and brother, Jim Heath. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Becky Payne.

A funreal service will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with a visitation to precede the service from 2-4pm. Burial will take place at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
